This is a new design to our British wildlife series, this natural study of the Elephant Hawk Moth 14 inch cushion or wall hanging. Once stitched and made up, these cushions would look lovely on any conservatory chair/sofa.

The Elephant Hawk Moth is a medium-sized hawk moth, on the wing from May to early August and active at dusk. The caterpillars can be found between July and September.

It is commonly found in parks and gardens, as well as woodland edges, rough grassland and sand dunes.These moths are a pretty, gold and pink moth that can be seen at dusk. The caterpillars look like Elephant’s trunks and have eyespots to scare off predators, hence the name Elephant Hawk Moth.
