Quick Tip!
Use the 'Quick Search' at the top right of the home screen, type in your shade ref i.e. 503, then the Scarlet ranger will appear, you will be able to find 501A to 505, repeat for any other shade references.

We stock all 400+ shades of both Appletons 2 ply crewel & 4 ply tapestry wool in skeins, half-hanks and hanks. 

Crewel wool, 2 ply - skein = 25 m, half-hank = 90 m, and hank = 180 m.

Tapestry wool, 4 ply - skein = 10 m, half-hank = 27.5 m, and hank = 55 m.

The skein and full hank come in a continuous length, whilst the half-hank comes in cut lengths of approx 75 cm

If you know the shade number, put it into the search box top right corner, otherwise scroll down and click on the colour range.  If we don't have  sufficient in stock we can order it for you. Appletons use a 3 digit shade number, take the first two numbers of the series then the colour number i.e. 101, 292 etc.

Enlarge the photos by clicking the magnifying icon in the middle of the photo then click the little 'cross' icon in the top right corner to see the shades,  (please note: due to differences in computer screens the colours on the website should be used as a guide only). If you are trying to match colours to complete a project please feel free to send us a sample and we will match for you. Or, we now sell a boxed set of colour swatches  a valuable resource, presented in 4ply wools but the 2ply crewel shades are identical.
